Satellite installers in Rainham
Rainham has one big advantage for satellite TV: the land to the south and south-east is mostly open marsh and river, so many homes have an uninterrupted view of the right part of the sky. The challenge is keeping a dish on target in the wind that comes with that open land. A dish that moves by a degree or two loses its margin, and the picture starts dropping out whenever heavy rain arrives.
We install Sky and Freesat dishes on solid brackets and align them by meter, move dishes for extensions and new windows, replace failed LNBs, and design multi-room and communal systems for houses and apartment blocks throughout RM13. If you’re changing to a broadband TV service, we can tell you whether your dish still has a use.
Satellite services in Rainham

Sky dish installation
A dish and LNB set up for Sky Q, sized for the boxes in your home. Sky Glass and Sky Stream don’t use a dish, because they stream over broadband, so if you’re moving to one, the dish can come down or stay for Freesat.

Freesat installation
Hundreds of channels with no monthly bill. Freesat is a straightforward way to add live TV to a room without an aerial socket, or to give a flat its own satellite feed where the lease allows.

Dish realignment and LNB replacement
A picture that fails in the rain, or a tuner that keeps losing channels, usually means the dish has been blown off target or the LNB has failed. We realign by meter and fit a new LNB if needed.

Moving a dish
Extensions, replacement windows, cladding and solar panels often mean a dish has to go somewhere new. We choose a spot with a clear south-eastern view, fix it firmly and seal the cable entry.

Multi-room and communal satellite
Multiswitch systems that let several rooms, or all the flats in a block, take a feed from one dish. We extend and repair the systems in newer developments such as Beam Park as well as older blocks.

Foreign-language satellite
Second dishes, or dual-feed dishes, aimed at Hotbird and other European satellites for channels in Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Italian and many other languages.
Satellite repairs in Rainham
‘No satellite signal’ usually means something outside has changed. In Rainham the commonest cause is wind: a dish on a light bracket gets pushed off target in a storm. LNBs also wear out with age and damp, gulls and pigeons perch on the arm, and new buildings or growing trees can block the view. Indoors, a loose cable behind the box or a failed multiswitch gives the same message.
Turn the box off at the wall for a minute, and rule out a cloudburst or snow on the dish, which will clear without help. If the warning keeps coming back, we follow the signal from the dish to the box and fix it, usually in one visit.

Finding the right place for a dish
The dish needs a clear line of sight to the south-east, so north-facing walls and spots shaded by tall trees or neighbouring blocks won’t work. On most Rainham houses a dish can go up without planning permission. The historic core of the village, around the church and Rainham Hall, is a conservation area, where the rules are stricter, especially for dishes facing the road, and listed buildings need consent. In a flat, check your lease before anything is fixed to the outside. We’ll find a position that works and tell you if you should speak to Havering Council first.

Rainham questions
My dish keeps losing signal after windy weather. Why?
It is probably moving on its bracket. We realign it, and if the bracket or mounting is too light for the exposure, we refit it more firmly.
Do I need a dish for Sky?
Sky Q and older Sky boxes need one. Sky Glass and Sky Stream work over broadband instead. Keep the dish if you switch, because a Freesat box can use it for free.
Can I put a dish on my Beam Park flat?
Check your lease first, as many new blocks limit what can go on the outside and offer a shared satellite feed instead. We can connect you to it, or repair it if it isn’t working.
Do I need planning permission for a dish in Rainham?
Most homes don’t. The rules are stricter in the Rainham village conservation area and for listed buildings. We’ll suggest a position that keeps you within them.
Can you fit a dish for foreign-language TV?
Yes. We align dishes to Hotbird and other European satellites, often alongside your existing dish.
