Satellite installers in Ipswich
Getting satellite TV right is about accuracy. The dish must be fixed solidly and aimed precisely at satellites in orbit high over the equator, and a small error eats into the margin that keeps the picture going through a squall blowing in off the coast. That is why we set every dish with a meter, and why realigning dishes that have slipped is such a regular job for us in Ipswich.
We install Sky and Freesat dishes, relocate dishes during building work, swap failed LNBs, wire multi-room systems in houses and blocks of flats, and set up dishes for channels from other countries. We cover all of the IP1, IP2, IP3 and IP4 postcodes and the villages around the town.
Satellite services in Ipswich

Sky dish installation
Sky Q uses a dish, so we fit one with an LNB matched to the boxes and tuners in your home. Sky Glass and Sky Stream work over broadband instead, with no dish, which leaves the old one free to be taken down or reused for Freesat.

Freesat installation
Freesat gives you live TV and HD channels with no subscription. It is worth considering in flats or streets where buildings or trees spoil the aerial signal, as long as the dish can see the south-east sky.

Dish realignment and LNB replacement
Pictures that freeze in rain, or one box losing signal while another is fine, usually mean a slipped dish or a failing LNB. We re-aim the dish on a meter and replace the LNB if it is at fault.

Moving a dish
Loft conversions, new windows, cladding and solar panels can leave a dish in the way. We take it down, choose a new spot with a clear south-east view, re-route the cable and seal the entry hole.

Multi-room and communal satellite
Multiswitch systems feeding several boxes in one house, or a dish shared across a whole block. Many Waterfront and town-centre blocks rely on these, and we install, extend and repair them.

Foreign-language satellite
Dishes set up for Hotbird and other European satellites, for channels in Polish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish and more. We can often mount one next to your existing dish.
When the box says ‘no satellite signal’
Most no-signal faults start outside. Gales along the Orwell can turn a dish, roofers and window fitters sometimes knock one, trees and new extensions block the view, and LNBs fail after years in the weather. Indoors, a cable pulled out behind the box or a failed multiswitch in a block of flats gives the same warning.
Try switching the box off at the mains for a minute, and check there is no snow on the dish or a heavy downpour overhead. If the message is still there afterwards, call us and we will normally put it right in one visit.

Where can your dish go?
Your dish needs a clear line of sight to the south-east, so walls facing north or gardens shaded by tall trees may not suit. Most houses can have a dish without planning permission, but the rules are tighter in conservation areas, including the central conservation area with its hundreds of listed buildings, and on any listed building, particularly where the dish faces the street. We will find a position that works and tell you when to check with Ipswich Borough Council.

Ipswich questions
My Sky or Freesat picture freezes in bad weather. Why?
Heavy rain weakens the signal slightly. A dish that is aimed accurately copes with it, so if yours drops out in every storm, it has probably moved or the LNB is wearing out. Realignment usually sorts it.
Does Sky Glass need a dish?
No. Sky Glass and Sky Stream use your broadband. Sky Q still needs a dish. If you have changed over, the old dish can stay up and run Freesat.
Can I have a dish on my Waterfront flat?
Many blocks have a shared dish and don’t allow individual ones, so check your lease and ask the managing agent. If the block has a communal system, we can connect your flat or fix a faulty outlet.
Do I need planning permission for a dish in Ipswich?
Usually not, but it is stricter in conservation areas and for listed buildings, especially for dishes facing the road. We will suggest a suitable position and tell you if you should ask the council.
Can you fit a dish for channels from abroad?
Yes. We align dishes to Hotbird and other European satellites, often alongside an existing dish.
