CCTV installers in Enfield
Good CCTV does two jobs at once. Visible cameras make your property a harder target than the one next door, and the recordings behind them give you usable evidence: a clear face at the door, a readable registration on the drive, an accurate time on every clip. Neither comes from buying more cameras. It comes from careful positions, decent light and a recorder that is set up properly.
Enfield covers a lot of ground in a few postcodes. In EN2 there are the period houses of Gentleman’s Row and the conservation areas at Forty Hill, Clay Hill and Bush Hill Park, along with the busy shopping streets of Enfield Town. EN1 and EN3 bring long runs of interwar terraces, purpose-built flats and the rebuilt Alma Estate at Ponders End. East of the Lea Valley railway, the Brimsdown industrial area holds bakeries, warehouses, storage and heavy industry between the tracks and the River Lea. We plan cameras for all of it: a single doorbell view for a first-floor flat, a full system for a detached house in Grange Park, or yard and gate coverage for a unit off Mollison Avenue.
CCTV services in Enfield

Home CCTV
Cameras for the front path, the bins, the drive and the back garden, with crisp colour by day, infrared at night and phone alerts that ignore cars passing in the street.

Business CCTV
Loading bays, gates, yards and stock for units in Brimsdown and along the Great Cambridge Road, recorded on a system you own with nothing to pay each month to watch it.

Flats and landlords
Entrance, stairwell, bike store and car park cameras for blocks, conversions and houses in multiple occupation, agreed with the freeholder or managing agent first.

CCTV repairs and upgrades
Dead cameras, missing recordings, washed-out night images or an app stuck offline. We fault-find on most brands and can bring older analogue cameras up to HD on the existing cable.

Remote viewing set-up
Watch live and play back clips on your phone or computer, protected by your own password, with home, shop and unit side by side in one app if you need them.
Camera types we fit
An Edwardian house on a conservation area street, a shop on Church Street and a high-roofed warehouse in Brimsdown need very different cameras, and one recorder can happily run a mix of them.
- Turret
- Our usual choice for homes: a wide view, strong night vision and no dome cover to catch glare.
- Dome
- Discreet and vandal-resistant, for ceilings, shop floors, porches and communal hallways.
- Bullet
- A visible deterrent with a longer reach, for driveways, yards and car parks.
- Varifocal
- Zoom set on the day to read a face at the door or a number plate at the gate.
- PTZ
- Pan, tilt and zoom cameras that can follow movement across a large yard or car park.
- Number plate (ANPR)
- Reads plates at entrances to business premises and private car parks.
- AI detection
- Alerts for people and vehicles only, not cats, passing cars or trees moving in the wind.
- 4G and solar
- For gates, barns and building sites with no power or network cable to hand.
Everything records to a network video recorder (NVR) at your property, 4MP to 4K depending on the camera, with phone viewing included.

Choosing cameras for Enfield properties
Many Enfield terraces open straight onto a small front garden, so a single camera beside the door, set low enough to see under a hood or cap, often does more than two high on the bay. Corner plots and homes backing onto alleyways need a camera on the rear gate. On the conservation area streets we use small, neutral-coloured housings and hide cable runs along gutters and down pipes so the front of the house keeps its character. In Brimsdown the problem is scale: long fences, wide yards and lorries coming and going, so we use 4K or varifocal cameras on the gate and perimeter and add a panoramic camera over the yard.
For flats, ask your freeholder or managing agent before anything is fixed to the outside of the building. We can then put forward a plan they can approve, or work with a doorbell or interior camera if external fittings aren’t allowed. Each recorder we fit is sized to hold around a month of footage.
How many cameras do you need?
Select your property type and what you want covered for an early idea of the system. We’re happy to carry out a free survey: phone or WhatsApp us to arrange it.
Your rough plan
3cameras
Recorder: 4-channel NVR
- Front door: turret with a face-height view of the porch
- Driveway: varifocal to catch number plates at the kerb
- Back garden: wide-angle turret over the garden and back door
Most Enfield homes need three or four cameras. The free survey confirms the exact positions and gives you a fixed price.
Typical CCTV faults we repair
Systems in Enfield fail in familiar ways. A tired power supply takes out several cameras at once. Water creeps into a connector on a north-facing wall and the picture flickers, then disappears. The recorder’s hard drive reaches the end of its life and quietly stops saving, so the footage you need is not there. After dark, the image fills with glare from a cobweb across the lens, or the infrared has failed and you see nothing at all. In shared blocks, the camera on the communal door is frequently knocked or turned. And a change of broadband supplier often leaves the phone app unable to connect.
We trace the fault from camera to recorder, replace the faulty part, re-aim anything that has moved and check recordings and remote viewing are both working before we pack up. When an old system isn’t worth repairing, we tell you and quote for a replacement that keeps any good cable.
CCTV, privacy and the ICO
Cameras that see only your own home and garden fall outside data protection law. Many London streets are tight, though, and a camera on a terrace can easily take in the pavement, the road or a neighbour’s window, and once it does the rules apply to that footage. We position cameras and set privacy masks to keep recordings to your property where we can. Businesses and landlords using CCTV in shared areas should display signs and set a retention period after which footage is deleted. The Information Commissioner’s Office has guidance for both homes and organisations, and we configure systems with it in mind.

Enfield questions
How much does a CCTV system cost in Enfield?
The price depends on the number of cameras, the cable runs involved and the recorder. Once we’ve surveyed the property, or talked it through by phone or WhatsApp, you get a fixed quote.
Can I see my cameras on my phone?
Yes. Every system comes with live viewing and playback on your phone, tablet or computer, and we set it up with you before we go.
Can you repair a system another company fitted?
Yes. We work on most makes of camera and recorder, and can usually move older analogue cameras to HD over the cable already in the walls.
Do I need permission for CCTV on my house?
Not for cameras on your own house. If they record beyond your boundary, data protection rules cover that footage, so we angle them to avoid it. In a flat, you also need the freeholder’s agreement for anything fixed to the building.
Do businesses have to pay the ICO for CCTV?
In most cases. A business recording for crime prevention will generally need to pay the Information Commissioner’s data protection fee, put up signs and keep footage no longer than necessary. The ICO site lists the current fee and exemptions.
Can you cover a unit on the Brimsdown industrial estate?
Yes. Units there often share access roads and yards, so we cover your own doors, gates and parking, use long-range cameras on the entrance and keep views off neighbouring premises where possible.
